The value attributed to the jewel's container is related to the precious metal it carries. Just like this, the headscarf of the Islam's woman integrates with her faith, chastity, modesty and virtues and takes her place in the ranks of values and becomes a part of her essence. In this respect, the headscarf, which has a special meaning, differs from the types used as accessories.

As you may remember, religious people who were crushed under the boots of secular tyrants in the past were subjected to heavy pressure, headscarved students were expelled from schools, many religious men and women were dismissed, symbols expressing religion were considered a crime and it was forbidden to enter official institutions with these symbols. With the AKP's coming to power in 2002, people who were tired of oppression, exclusion and not being able to find a ground to express themselves thought that they could realize their dreams, entered into great expectations and confessed that they would not compromise on Islamic principles no matter what. However, the waters did not flow down as we expected, and soon the religious segment was integrated into the global/secular culture and began to make concessions after concessions. While some of our sisters, who became a part of the secular culture by moving away from their core values, uncovered their heads, there were also those who got closer to the conservative section that held the economic and political power and covered their heads.

Of course, we cannot know the inner worlds of people, but some singers, actors and actresses, who did not stand with religious women who were deprived of their education and working rights, excluded and despised, and who avoided even making a supportive statement for them, said that when the conservative class came to power, they covered their heads and acted with them. We've seen them start. So much so that we started to see some of these people, who were in different lanes before, while they were reciting the call to prayer, some at iftar feasts, and some during their visit to shrines. And while these people were not respected in their own neighborhoods before, they were flooded with attention by religious circles, received praise, had various opportunities and became the apple of the society's eye. As I just said, this is what appears from the outside, but we cannot know people's insides, our Lord knows this...

Time flew by like water and women wearing headscarves began to take part in every aspect of life and make their presence felt. But unfortunately, many have started to see the veil not as a value but as a tool, an accessory that will reveal its charm and make itself more attractive. Secular culture transformed the Muslim woman's perception of the veil and made it an object of consumption by hooking it in her web.

In recent years, the constant pumping of the concepts of fashion and beauty and the evaluation of women through their mere visibility have caused the veil to be seen as a part of the fashion industry and turned into a commercial commodity. Many women, who could not establish their cultural identity and fix their stance, were flooded with secular discourses and either uncovered their heads or started to see the veil as a tool to reveal their charms. The pressures and impositions we experienced in the past, as well as the opportunities we had, were a test and we lost the test in wealth, not in poverty, we were spoiled when we had it, and we started to drift away from the path as we became pampered. We lost the test in existence...
