Separating a child from a mother is like tearing a finger from the hand. If your finger is severed, you will feel the pain all over your body and you cannot put anything in its place. As our East Turkestan children were taken from their families and taken to torture camps by the invading Chinese thugs, I felt my fingers being cut off and the pain hurt my heart. Think of your five-year-old child, how can he survive without you, how can he endure severe torture and cell life? Invading China is putting Uighur children in torture centers to Chineseize them. Children are first separated from their own culture and then assimilated by oppression.

Uighur children wrote their stories in dark cells. They could not make their voices heard, they were taken like an inert object while running to the vast world of games, and they were met with ordeal, torture, raids and occupations. While the invading villains were pushing themselves, the children knew where the end of the road would lead, and they fell into a pain that their hearts could not bear. The children who were separated from the family saw the corridors where violence, hatred, marginalization, hunger, lovelessness and torture took place, and they burst into sobs when they looked at the hurting eyes of their parents for the last time… What a pity to witness the painful glances of the children and not be able to do anything!

When the sufferings left behind by the genocide, the greatest oppression of humanity, turned into a reaction, the United Nations (UN) Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide was signed in 1948 with the participation of 149 countries, and genocide was accepted as a crime against humanity all over the world. According to the aforementioned convention, killing or causing bodily or mental damage to a community or members of a community, harming the physical living conditions of all or a part of the individuals, resorting to ways to prevent births, forcibly removing children belonging to a community from their own culture, violation of rights. It is genocide beyond that and is considered a crime. However, the UN, whose name we hear often, cannot go beyond giving statistical information on human rights violations. Why is that? Because all these formations function as subsidiaries of the capitalist system.

True Turkestan, located at a geographically and strategically important point, is also a region with rich natural resources. China makes excuses to have these resources, puts Uyghur Muslims, which it portrays as extremist, on birth control, by applying practices that will disrupt family unity, forcibly separating children from their families and exposing them to cultural transformation in the camps. China is blatantly committing genocide against Uighur Muslims. Unfortunately, our political officials evaluate the event through the political and commercial agreements with China, ignore the genocide in East Turkestan and do not even include it on their agenda. According to human conscience and international law, preventing a child from using their mother tongue and maintaining their ties with their roots and forcing them to cultural transformation is to destroy the common values and memory of that society and violate their fundamental rights. But the rulers of the world see what they want to see, they undermine what they do not want to see.

The invading Chinese administration locks the Uighur children, whose dreams have been stolen, away from their core values, in camps surrounded by barbed wire, with guards at the door, and cuts off contact with their families. Children are subjected to severe torture in torture camps under the name of re-education. China first changes the identity information of the children it has taken from their families and gives the children to Chinese families, it is also said that the children are killed to be used as test subjects and used in immoral fields. Although this atrocity committed by China on children is contrary to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, we do not receive any support.

We live in a world where wars, tortures, screams of children, violations of rights take place, the strong oppress the weak, and arrogance and arrogance are at their peak. And we understand that the institutions and organizations created to prevent so-called violations of rights only take a picture of the event. We understand that the persecution will end only when rights and justice reach every particle of life... When the good ones stand up, the darkness will end and those children whose hopes have been stolen will be able to fly their kites freely on the horizon.

A WORD

"Position, rank, title, these are all jackets and we hang the jacket and go somewhere. Only our humanity remains behind us…"
