Sule Yuksel Senler, who has an important place in our lives since the 1960s, was commemorated with prayers on the 2nd anniversary of her death. The life of Mrs. Sule, which she devoted to the cause, was evaluated with all its aspects and prayers were made.

When I met our sister Şule Yüksel Şenler, I was a high school student and the first thing that caught my attention when we met was her kindness and unique style. She was the founder and responsible of two madrasahs serving in Fatih Çarşamba, and I stayed in one of these courses for a summer and had the chance to get to know her better.

As you may remember, in the 90's and before, the religious section was going through severe tests under the pressure of the secular Kemalists. All kinds of expressions, actions and symbols reflecting Islam were seen as crimes, and religious people were subjected to pressure and imposition. Of course, it would not be easy to convey the truth in such a process, as it was thought that Mrs. Şule came to the forefront as a person who paid the price and became a role model for religious women with her courage.

People who have left their mark on history have something that affects our lives; some of them with their extraordinary courage in the face of injustice, some with their scientific studies, some with their patience and sharing. The most distinctive feature of Şule Yüksel that remained in my memory was her kindness and strong communication skills, which today we clearly feel the absence of these values.

In the past, our teachers used to address the congregation from a high podium, scolding them, insulting them, accusing them, and completing the conversation by putting fear in their hearts. When the conversation was over, people would bow their heads like delinquent children and go home, losing the joy of life in their eyes. At that time, I could not reconcile these strict and repulsive styles of teachers with the style of our Prophet Mohammad (pbuh), who centered compassion in his relations with people, and tried to understand why. Our sister Şule was a lady who helped clear up this confusion in my mind with her understanding and compassion in her relations with people. She was careful not to hurt her interlocutor and carefully chose the words she used in her expressions, she gave hope. She was a good listener, she listened to people patiently, tried to understand and supported them by giving feedback. Mrs. Şule was a person with strong communication and high conscientiousness. In this respect, she reached and supported many ladies from different walks of life.

Today, communication problems are encountered in almost every field and efforts are made to ensure effective communication, but it is not possible to proceed with a perspective that only considers the material side of people and cannot give the value they deserve. That's why communication problems are never out of our agenda.
