Last week, on the occasion of World Farmers' Day, problems in the agricultural field were brought to the agenda and evaluations were made for the state to realize the danger and produce a holistic policy. In our country, which has fertile lands, agricultural production capacity is gradually decreasing and foreign dependency is increasing.

Prices are rising rapidly and access to basic foodstuffs is becoming more difficult.

Gerhard Lenski, who stated that societies are in a state of rapid change and technology plays an active role in this regard, is not wrong. Because the global capitalist system, which uses technology as a tool to achieve its goals, has corrupted the nature of soil, water and air and caused impoverishment by consuming the world's resources.

Muslims, who try to strike each other through ethnic and sectarian conflicts, ignore the fact that agriculture is a vital issue and are busy with issues that will not fill the fig seed. Muslim societies that have been integrated into the imperialist system in the political and economic fields have accepted captivity, they cannot wake up from the complacency they are in and say what can we do, and cannot take an active step in this regard.

The familiarity of man with the land began with Adam, and agriculture continued to exist as an effective force that determined the fate of societies. The ancestral seeds and the use of the land, which are essential for our life, have been passed down from generation to generation, and the agricultural tradition has continued. Three things were needed for a person to survive; air, water and land…

He used both the air and the water to feed the seed he kept in his bosom and turned into productive products.

In our culture, the soil was called mother, as the soil fed the seed, grew it and met our needs like a mother. You may remember that our grandfathers used to separate the seed products and bring them together with the soil and harvest naturally. However, a lot has changed in a quarter of a century, with the "Seed Law" adopted in 2006, the sale of unregistered local seeds was prohibited, and as of 2018, it was announced that support to farmers who do not use certified seeds would be cut off.

This situation broke the motivation of the people who were engaged in agriculture and many people left agriculture and migrated to the cities. Failure to provide the farmers with the support they deserve and supporting hybrid seeds were a harbinger of danger, but the mind of the society was numbed by being busy with the buildings, roads and bridges built, and a dire picture emerged.

The abandonment of the ancestor seed and the chemicals used in the development of the products caused explosions in health problems and the dangers of GMO products began to be discussed. People sought ways to reach local seeds and organic products, but in a quarter of a century everything was gone. Skyscrapers were erected in our cities, huge roads and bridges were built, but our people began to have difficulty in purchasing even basic foodstuffs, and a road was opened from cities to villages. In our country, which has fertile lands, even basic products such as onions, potatoes and pulses started to be imported and foreign dependency increased.

Our country is located in a coordinate where four seasons are experienced and we have fertile lands. And the soil we integrate with its main concept is more valuable than gold. The state should provide the necessary support to the farmers for cultivating the soil and revitalizing agriculture and should produce an effective policy in this regard. Otherwise, we may not even be able to reach the basic foods that are essential for our lives in the near future.
