The clocks are set for the 2023 elections and almost everyone is focused on the election results that will determine the fate of the country. It is not easy for politicians who think that if I throw off my jacket, I will win, it is not easy for them to worry about losing.

In order to attract the attention of the public, studies are carried out on many issues such as the housing crisis, the rights to be given to the contracted people, the zoning amnesty and the restructuring of debts. The decision on the right of women to use their surname is among these studies. And I think this decision seems like it will be discussed a lot today as it was in the past.

The Constitutional Court annulled the law, which includes the provision that a married woman cannot use her previous surname alone, on the grounds that it causes inequality between men and women. This decision will undoubtedly affect women's sense of confidence positively, but it will not be a solution to the increasing violence.

Because the government's efforts to prevent violence against women in the past increased the anger of men fed by ignorance, and the victimization of women doubled. The violent husband, who was suspended or imprisoned for inflicting violence on his wife, decided to punish the woman after her sentence was over, and many women were subjected to violence, maimed and murdered. The decisions taken by the state to protect the woman exposed to violence were not sufficient and the woman pushed into despair was left to the initiative of the psychopathic husband.

In order to bring a permanent solution to violence against women, in addition to legal sanctions, these people need to receive psychological support and change the negative perception they attribute to the concept of women with a spirituality-centered education.

You have no chance to prevent violence without internalizing the concept of right; The person who sees women as a second-class creature will think that she has a share in the punishment and will increase the violence even more. The concept of rights should be given to children in families and schools, and it should be emphasized that this is a responsibility.

In order to prevent femicides and violence against women, the distorted customs attributed to religion and the perception of enslaved women must be changed and the concept of rights must be reconstructed. Some hodjas, who stated that the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was so kind to his wives not to raise his voice, on the one hand, and that a woman should be beaten if she deserved it, should abandon these provocative attitudes and act with the awareness that women are an educator and an active personality who raises generations for society.

Violence is largely about learning, and when you associate it with beliefs, men who do not fulfill their religious obligations will begin to see violence as a legitimate right. Hodjas, who took the podium and led the masses, should center the relations of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) with his wives and suggest that mercy is much stronger than that to men who see violence as a power.
