In the Mediterranean region, competition is at a high level as a result of claims and international alliances in the regions where oil and gas fields are located. The close relationship between Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Turkey's determined stance in defending the rights of Turkish Cypriots cause the countries on the other side to question their positions and attitudes.

The negotiations that have been going on since 1974 and the Greek Cypriot side's anti-solution attitude fueled by the deadlock draws the attention of the UK and other countries, and this situation is frequently expressed by Turkey as well.

Cyprus is an important base for the discovery and operation of Mediterranean energy deposits and has strategic importance for Turkey. The close relations between Cyprus and our country provide an advantage to Turkey.

Divide et Impera

We can examine the process with Caesar's strategic understanding under the following headings;

• Causing and even promoting internal divisions while hindering the continuation of alliances,

• To encourage cooperation with the power source and to support those who are willing to cooperate,

• Creating problems and promoting distrust among managers,

• To ensure that money is used as an element of power.

Although it takes time to implement the divide-and-conquer strategy, which is described in short titles, it helps the power centers to get the desired result on the divided parts.

POLITICAL, ECONOMIC AND MILITARY STEPS TO BE TAKEN

Although the thesis that the UK will not recognize Cyprus because it is one of the five countries that voted not to recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the United Nations, some circles have expressed the thesis that the UK will not recognize Cyprus, as a result of the changing conditions and the current regional interests of the UK and the changing balances. I believe that you can recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

With this recognition, the necessary conditions for facilitating the solution, equal treatment of the parties and the continuation of the negotiations can be put forward, based on the recommendation that the two equal nations should be at the table to solve their problems and that the negotiations should continue.

It may be possible that some of the Muslim countries that are members of the British League will recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus following the recognition of the British.

Following the political recognition, an economic cooperation agreement aimed at contributing to the Cyprus economy with tourism incentives, supporting investments, providing loans or direct investments towards the Maraş region and facilitating mutual trade is also possible.

Within the scope of the economic cooperation agreement; Nicosia Airport, which is closed, can be operated jointly with the UK in order to provide direct flights between the UK and Cyprus in order to ensure the continuation of tourism investments and bilateral relations, and to provide equal opportunities to the Greek and Turkish sides.

With the military agreement to be made between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the United Kingdom, a British military base in the Turkish part of Cyprus can be opened or such a base can be established at Nicosia Airport. In this case, an airbase in Cyprus could be an advantage for Britain and its close friends.

Syria's seabound port city, Latakia, is at the crossroads for future pipelines to be built both for access to the sea and in the north-south direction. Due to the fact that Russia has a port in this region, regional competition conditions may cause the USA and England to bring up the need for ports in the region.

The possibility of British companies to establish facilities in both regions in the operation of energy resources, in the construction of the port and the facilities to be built, will reduce the costs. A port that can be built on the Turkish side in order to meet commercial needs may be used for military and civilian purposes.

DIVIDE AND RULE STRATEGY AND THE ENGLAND

As we discussed in the divide-and-rule strategy, England can develop its economic, military and political relations over time and direct the Greek and Turkish sides in any direction. Because he will be on both sides of the table.

England's goal; The complete withdrawal of the Turkish military from Cyprus may be a weakening of economic and political relations. For this purpose; It may aim to steer the balances in the Mediterranean against Turkey by negatively affecting the relations and agreements between Northern Cyprus and Turkey.

If the Turkish Cypriots accept the demands of the Greek part without the support of Turkey, the balance may change in favor of the Greek part.

While the UK's recognition of the TRNC is welcomed with spring weather in our country and Cyprus, it should be kept in mind what the future effects might be.

Chess is played by guessing one or the next moves of the opponent. This article is a theoretical article that deals with the moves that can be made to the predictions.

It is in the interest of our country to anticipate the next steps of the British diplomats who set successful examples in diplomacy, and to carry out studies that will not allow our country to be besieged from the Mediterranean.
