In the second round of the presidential election to be held on May 28, the voting process of the voters registered in the foreign electoral roll has started.

Ballot boxes were set up at 167 points in Türkiye's 151 representatives in 73 countries. According to the statement made by the Supreme Election Board (YSK), 3 million 423 thousand 759 registered foreign voters will be able to vote at border gates and foreign representations.
 
A total of 12 ballot boxes were placed in the two areas designated on the arrivals and departures floors at the international terminal of Istanbul Airport, the largest border gate in Türkiye.
 
Before voting, ballot box committee members took the oath. After the oath, the ballot box committee members counted the envelopes and ballot papers.

Foreign voters cast their votes by presenting their passports and IDs as of 08:00.
 
Foreign voters will be able to vote at the customs gates, especially at Istanbul Airport, until 17.00 on Sunday, May 28.
 
Voting has started at Türkiye's foreign representative offices and customs gates for the second round of the Presidential election.

Voting at overseas representations will be completed on Wednesday, May 24. The votes cast will be brought to Istanbul Airport by Turkish Airlines' scheduled planes, accompanied by diplomatic couriers.
 

THERE IS INTENSE ATTENTION

 
Voters started to cast their votes at the ballot boxes set up at the Turkish Embassy in Baku and the Consulates General in Nakhchivan and Ganja as of 07:00 CET. For the election, 9 ballot boxes were set up in Baku, 3 in Ganja and 3 in Nakhchivan.
 
In Azerbaijan, where the voting process will continue until May 22, there are a total of 11 thousand 43 registered voters, 7 thousand 417 at the Baku Embassy, 2 thousand 277 at the Ganja Consulate and 1349 at the Nakhchivan Consulate General. Turkish voters in Azerbaijan had 60.26 percent turnout in the first round of the election.
 
Citizens waiting for the ballot boxes to be opened in the early hours of the morning at the Consulate General of Türkiye in Cologne formed long queues. Voters in Cologne started to cast their votes in 24 ballot boxes.
 
Turks in Germany, the country with the highest number of voters abroad with approximately 1.5 million voters, will be able to cast their votes between 08:00 and 22:00 until May 24.
 
In the cities of Aachen and Regensburg, votes can be cast between 09.00-18.00 until 21 May.
 

EXTENDED TO 5 DAYS

 
The YSK decided to extend the voting period in the United States, Canada, Australia, Ireland and England, and to cast votes on May 20-24 in these countries.
 
Previously, the voting period in these countries was announced as 20-21 May. CHP applied to the YSK to extend the period from two days to five days.
 
After the decision, Turkish citizens will be able to vote for the second round of the election for five days. Voting at the ballot boxes set up at the Turkish Embassy in Madrid and the Consulate General in Barcelona started at 08:00 local time (09:00 CET).
 
Citizens who can vote by presenting their IDs will be able to vote between 08.00 and 22.00 until 22 May. In the first election, 3,510 out of 5,838 registered voters in Spain voted.
 
Turkish citizens in France started to vote for the second round of the presidential election as of 08:00 local time in the cities of Paris, Marseille, Strasbourg, Lyon, Nantes and Bordeaux.
 
Voting in these cities will take place between 08:00 and 22:00 until 24 May.
 
Turkish voters living in France will also be able to vote in the cities of Mulhouse, Clermont-Ferrand and Orleans on May 20-21, between 09.00 and 21.00.
 
In the Presidential and 28th Term Parliamentary Elections on May 14, 197 thousand 634 votes out of 397 thousand 86 registered in France, and the turnout rate was 49.77.
