A couple who chose to tie the knot at a metro station rather than a banquet hall exchanged vows at Haliç Metro Station on Sunday.
The couple's wedding took place only two days after Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality announced they will authorize such ceremonies to be held at metro stations including Haliç, which is located above the Golden Horn and connects the city's famous Fatih and Beyoğlu districts.
The groom Alper Odabaş, who's been working as a conductor for five years, and his wife-to-be Yeşim Demiray, as well as their guests and municipal officials took the Yenikapı metro at 11.00 a.m. to get to the ceremony.
