Confederation of Civil Servants Unions (BASK) Chairman Bayram Zengin pointed out that the civil servant became a creditor in the face of inflation.
"More than three times of the 7.5 percent increase in the first six months of the year, civil servants and retirees became 15.31 percent creditors. According to Türk-İş, the hunger limit for a family of 4 has increased to 4,928 TL and the poverty line to 16,052 TL for March. The minimum wage is 4,253.40 TL, and the monthly living cost of a single employee is 6,474 TL. According to the presidential data, average pensions vary between 2,566.20 TL and 4 thousand 674.40 TL. Our retirees live below the hunger line and our civil servants live below the poverty line," Zengin said.
