A tourist who spent more foreign currency in previous years can spend days on holiday with a lower amount of foreign currency due to the fluctuation in the exchange rate this year. This influx of tourists does not bring any benefit to the country's economy, and it does not go beyond just meeting the cost for the tourism sector. Increasing inflation, high price hikes and fluctuations in exchange rates have led to an increase in costs in the tourism sector, as in every sector.
The melting of the Turkish Lira against the exchange rates, the invasion of tourists in our country, causes so-called joy in the tourism sector. While the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced the arrival of 9 million tourists in the first 4 months with great excitement, it is stated that the amount of foreign currency left by the tourists is very low compared to previous years. The fact that tourism companies have sold a weekly holiday for 200 euros in recent days also reveals how painful the point reached is. The appreciation of the dollar and euro against the Turkish lira every day limits the foreign currency that tourists spend. Tourists, who spent more foreign currency in previous years, can have a holiday for days with a lower amount of foreign currency due to the fluctuation in the exchange rate this year.
THE FLOW OF TOURISTS ONLY COVERS THE COSTS
This influx of tourists does not bring any benefit to the country's economy and does not go beyond just meeting the cost in the tourism sector. Increasing inflation, high price hikes and fluctuations in exchange rates have led to an increase in costs in the tourism sector, as in every sector. Businesses, on the other hand, noted that incoming tourists do not go beyond just meeting the cost, and that the sector is far from increasing the profit margin.
