Gasoline and diesel prices break all time records

After yesterday's increase of 2.03 lira, the price of diesel exceeded 40 lira, while today there was an increase of 1.64 lira for gasoline and the price of gasoline rose to 38.51 lira. Thus, in the 4 months since the May 14 elections, gasoline has increased by 94 percent and diesel by 115 percent.

After the diesel price increased by 2.03 lira yesterday and exceeded 40 lira, the price of gasoline increased today and broke its historical record.

Effective from today, the liter price of gasoline has increased by 1 lira and 64 kuruş.

With today's increase, the liter price of gasoline increased to 38.51 lira in Istanbul, 39.08 lira in Ankara and 39.19 lira in Izmir.

Following the increase yesterday, the liter of diesel fuel increased to 40 lira in Istanbul, 40.53 lira in Ankara and 40.71 lira in Izmir.

GASOLINE INCREASED BY 94 PERCENT, DIESEL INCREASED BY 115 PERCENT

In the 4-month period after the May 14 elections, fuel price increases officially turned into a downpour.

Before the election on May 14, the liter price of gasoline in Istanbul was 19.81 lira and diesel was 18.58 lira; Following the recent price hikes, today gasoline is sold for 38.51 lira and diesel for 40 lira.

In the three-month period after the election, the price increase exceeded 94 percent for gasoline and 115 percent for diesel.
