In a news conference held in the afternoon, spokesman for the health ministry Ashraf al-Qudra said that the number of the wounded climbed to over 40,0652 people.
Spokesman Qudra pointed out that 70 percent of the casualties are children and women.
The spokesman affirmed that 280 doctors and medical workers were martyred by Zionist regime’s attacks in different areas of Gaza, accusing the regime’s occupation army of deliberately targeting the health sector to put it out of service and make its hospitals incapable of receiving wounded civilians.
The spokesman also accused the Zionist regime’s army of detaining and interrogating 31 doctors and medical workers under coercive conditions and torture.
He affirmed that “there are no safe places in the entire Gaza Strip, contrary to what the occupation army claims.”
