Future (Gelecek) Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu made evaluations on the agenda in the TV5 program “Backstage Ankara”.
Davutoğlu stated that Gelecek and Saadet Party took the first concrete step before the local elections and conveyed information about the path they will follow in the elections.
FIRST STEP BETWEEN PARTIES
Stating that the Saadet Party and the Gelecek Party set a strategy together, Davutoğlu underlined that the leaders of the two parties came together and decided not to divide the votes in the local elections.
"In Turkey, the Gelecek and the Saadet Party will not enter separately in the same region. We will support the Gelecek Saadet in some regions, we will support the Gelecek Saadet in some regions, but we will not divide it in a way that will cause the votes to be split. This is a very important step, the first concrete step towards cooperation between parties. We will also discuss the issue of other parties together. In other words, there may be cooperation with other parties in certain places. We will also negotiate it in big cities. Whoever abides by our principles will negotiate whether to support that candidate or seek support from them. We and Mr. Karamollaoğlu have already given instructions to our friends regarding the candidates," he said.
"YOU WILL GET INCOME FROM THE RENTIERS, NOT THE PUBLIC"
Making statements about the new tax practices of the government, Davutoğlu called for taxes to be obtained from rentiers, not citizens.
"Our first issue is, let alone political discussions, he is guilty, he is guilty, these are behind, the first issue on our agenda right now is how our people will spend this winter. If we were implementing it, I would have taxed those masses, the rent, who have been exploiting the resources of our nation for 5 years, 7 years. I would never put aside the increases in VAT and SCT, there has been a wild transfer of wealth in this country, you will pay taxes on these wealth transfers first. If the resources and taxes of this people have been exhausted, a new austerity policy will be imposed on the people, Mehmet Şimşek says, 'We will continue with the tight monetary policy in 2024.' Meat is subject to tight monetary policy, but where will you find the income? While this policy continues, if you try to lower the salaries and collect the income from the people's taxes, it is called cruelty. Where will you find your income? You will get the income from that rentier, to which you have transferred wealth for 7 years, from that rentier class that I want to tax in 2016. Then you will allocate the resource created in that rentier class only to production, to the farmer. Then you will make a structural reform," he added.
