Republican People’s Party (CHP) and Nationalistic Movement Party (MHP) held their weekly group meetings in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu came to power over the economy at the group meeting of his party. MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli made harsh criticisms of the opposition parties.

KILIÇDAROĞLU: “NO ONE SHOULD GIVE AWAY TO DESPAIR”

Kılıçdaroğlu gave a shorter speech than usual at the group meeting of his party. Kılıçdaroğlu emphasized the importance of the summit where 6 opposition parties came together at the Democratic Party Headquarters and said, “No one should despair. Together we will ensure peace and well-being in our beautiful country. As the heads of 6 political parties, we made a long study. As a result, we also made a statement, we have good explanations there. We have a study in which we will enact the political moral code. We will make the economic and social council operative. The independence of the Central Bank will be guaranteed. In addition, we should also consider the qualifications of the person whom we will elect our presidents. We shared it with the public.”

KILIÇDAROĞLU: “WE WILL FIGHT WITH THOSE WHO SELL THE MOTHERLAND”

Speaking about the Gezi Park case, Kılıçdaroğlu added, “Justice does not come from established courts. The decisions they make are not the ones they made of their own free will. Decisions made by instruction. We are not new to such courts. We have seen many such courts. We have seen that the Chief of Staff of this country has been arrested as a terrorist… We will fight with gangs that cut off the electricity of millions, with those who surrender our streets to the mafia, with drug lords, with those who put the judiciary at the disposal of politics and send the Brunsons by private plane and hold their own people hostage. We will fight with those who sell the motherland.”

BAHÇELİ: “JUDICIARY SHOULD BE RESPECTED”

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli, on the other hand, regarding the power cut of CHP leader Kılıçdaroğlu, who protested the increase in electricity prices, said, “The CHP Chairman is in a state of surprise which provocation he will serve. Kılıçdaroğlu's electricity was cut off as expected. Of course, that's what would happen, I warned you personally.” Answering the questions of the journalists after the meeting, Bahçeli stated that the judiciary should be respected regarding the life sentence given to Osman Kavala as a result of the Gezi trial, and added: "Those who try to prevent it with long years of discussions on the subject should accept everything by respecting this decision of the judiciary."
