Studies on the Retirement Age Victims (EYT) are continuing. The explanations made about the studies do not put an end to the concerns of the victims. The explanations regarding the regulation regarding EYT continue to come. Lastly, President Erdoğan stated in his statement that EYT will be finished by the end of the month. Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, said that the works were not completed and attributed the delay to technical reasons.
“WE DON'T KNOW WHAT WE WILL FACE”
Pointing out that there is an expectation that the process will be completed by 2023 in the statement made by President Erdoğan, Özüpak stated that the statement was not sufficient and said, “It was as if the end of the EYT process was made without a clear one. Will before September 99 be out of scope? Or we are worried about whether we will be stuck with the age limit. The President and Minister of Labor and Social Security is the executive authority that will put the last point on EYT, but a clear statement has not yet come. We do not know if there will be another victimization. The path of EYT is still not over. It kind of turned into a never-ending road.”
"NEBATİ'S EXPLANATION IS A GOOF"
Pointing out that the speeches of Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, made one think that the process would lag, Gönül Boran Özüpak, President of the EYT Federation, said, “The statements of the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Bilgin, made one think that the process would be delayed. Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati has a goof like ‘What is EYT?’ This goof caused uneasiness and new question marks in us. President Erdogan's statement ruled out these. But the statement is not exactly a clear statement.”
