Civil servant salaries and pensions of retired civil servants will increase by 17.55 percent, and SSK and Bağ-Kur pensions will increase by 19.77 percent due to the low 6-month inflation in May thanks to the "free natural gas".
Turkish Statistical Institute announced the inflation data for June. Accordingly, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 3.92 percent and the Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) increased by 6.5 percent in June.
Annual inflation was 38.21 percent in consumer prices and 40.42 percent in domestic producer prices.
CPI increased by 19.77 percent and D-PPI increased by 14.82 percent in June compared to December of last year.
Considering the 12-month averages in June, consumer prices increased by 59.95 percent and domestic producer prices increased by 86.59 percent.
Economists participating in the AA Finans Inflation Expectation Survey predicted that the CPI would increase by 3.91 percent on a monthly basis in June.
Economists had calculated that annual inflation, which was 39.59 percent in the previous month, would decline to 38.20 percent.
PRICE INCREASE
In terms of main expenditure groups, the groups with the highest monthly increase in June were alcoholic beverages and tobacco with 11.13 percent, transportation with 7.96 percent, and restaurants with 4.32 percent.
The main group, which showed the least monthly increase in June, was recorded as health with 1.21 percent.
The highest annual increase in CPI was seen in the restaurants and hotels group with 67.22 percent.
The main groups with the lowest increase compared to June 2022 are housing with 14.76 percent, transportation with 20.75 percent, clothing and shoes with 21 percent, respectively.
In the same month, the index of 20 main titles out of 143 main titles covered in the index decreased, while the index of 6 main titles did not change.
There was an increase in the index of 117 main titles.
