Greece, which has harassed Turkish jets in the Eastern Mediterranean in the past days, is now trying to intimidate Turkey by opening the new US military base in Alexandroupolis.
Disregarding the Lausanne and Paris agreements in the Aegean, Greece, which violated international law, continues to usurp Turkey's rights due to the feebleness of the reactions. The Greek administration, which has occupied nearly 20 of our islands and armed them, has added a new one to its threats.
JUST 20 KILOMETERS AWAY FROM OUR BORDER

According to the news of the ‘Ta Nea’ newspaper, the preparations in the ‘Yannuli Barracks’ allocated by Greece to the USA have reached the final stage. In the news, which stated that the barracks were ‘ready to host the first NATO soldiers in the coming weeks’, it was emphasized that the barracks were 20 kilometers away from the Turkish border in a ‘straight line’.
In the news, by claiming “Turkey is uncomfortable not only the Americans’ use of Alexandroupolis Port to ship tanks, helicopters and military ammunition to the Balkans, but also with the fact that the first NATO base in the region will be operational,” the news said. According to the Mutual Defense Cooperation Agreement signed between Athens and Washington last year, the ‘Georgula Barracks’ in Volos and the shooting range in Litohoru were allocated to the USA as well as Yannuli Barracks.
