HAK-İŞ Confederation President Mahmut Arslan, over the announcment of minimum wage as 2,324 TL previous day, referred to President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdogan's, "we will do our gesture," words, said, "Obviously I cannot see a gesture here."

Arslan, the minimum wage hike rate does not approach the demands of the expected inflation of three to four points above said that it is positive.

Arslan said the following on the question about the gesture:

"Frankly I can't see a gesture here. If the gesture is higher than inflation, we already know that the government has set a minimum wage above inflation for many years. We thought that the demand of the workers would be accepted, we had such an expectation as a gesture; but this did not happen. Not for employers. Because more than 500 workers before the workplace 100 pounds, less than 500 workers in the workplace is provided support to 150 liras, this time was reduced to 75 liras. I can't see a gesture there either."

"What the minister says is not in line with the working principle of the commission"

"This is in fact not the working principle of the commission. I would understand if there was a dual social dialogue where there was no public. For example, in the European Union (EU), workers and employers work together in the European Economic Social Committee. If workers and employers agree on anything, this is the EU's directive. naturally the government side is going to determine whether such an application of the minimum wage in Turkey's legislation. The minister's thought is of course a good wish; but if a legislative change is made," he added.
