Speaking at the meeting, Arslan made important evaluations about the Zionist persecution in Palestine and xenophobia in Europe.
PALESTINE CRITICISM TO EPSU
Stating that the struggle for an independent Palestine that can provide public services should be continued, Arslan said, “We signed a historic decision on Palestine at the 2019 EPSU congress. However, we see that an effective study has not been carried out in the past time and we have not been able to realize the decisions we made at the congress. At the point we have reached today, Israel's pressure on Palestine continues to increase. Even in Ramadan, the actions of fanatical Jews caused clashes in Masjid al-Aqsa. The blockade and illegal settlements continue to be established in Gaza. All steps in front of the establishment of an independent Palestinian state are blocked, and support for Palestine, especially from USA, is decreasing.”
“WE WILL CONTINUE SOLIDARITY WITH PALESTINE RESOLUTELY”
Expressing that Hak-İş Confederation and its affiliated unions will continue their solidarity with Palestine with determination, Arslan added, “We held a protest in front of the United Nations (UN) building in Geneva. We condemned the USA and Israel for the decision to declare Jerusalem the capital. Last year, we carried out an aid campaign for people whose houses were bombed in Gaza. We have provided food aid to hundreds of families, but Palestine still awaits us and our support.”
