The Hamas Movement has denounced the terror bombings that happened in the Turkish city of Istanbul on Saturday and mourned the death of policemen and civilians.

In Facebook remarks on Sunday, senior Hamas official Ezzat al-Resheq described the repeated terror attacks in Turkey as a price the country pays for its support of the oppressed peoples in the region.

“The lives and blood of its people are the price Turkey is still paying for standing by the oppressed, especially in our Arab region,” Resheq said.

“We send our condolences to Turkey over the victims of the terror blasts that have targeted policemen and civilians,” he stated.

According to the Turkish interior ministry on Sunday, the blasts claimed the lives of 38 police officers and seven civilians and wounded at least 166 others. Another body is still unidentified.

The twin blasts, which were aimed at police officers, occurred outside a soccer stadium in Istanbul in the evening.
