In a press release, Hamas said that Morsi died after a long journey of serving the Egyptian people and the issues of Arab and Islamic nations, above all the Palestinian cause that he supported at all regional and international levels, not to mention his efforts to defend Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque when he was a member in the Egyptian parliament.
The resistance movement stressed that the Palestinian people would always remember his brave and bold stances towards Gaza and his efforts to break the Israeli siege imposed on it and repulse the 2012 Israeli aggression against the blockaded territory.
In light of this grave loss, Hamas sends its condolences to Egypt and its people and Morsi’s family, relatives, and supporters.
