In a press release, Abdel Hadi described the meeting as positive and fruitful, as all of the participants reiterated their complete rejection of the US deal and the Bahrain economic event.
Abdel Hadi stressed the participants reaffirmed their opposition to all plans aimed at resettling and displacing Lebanon’s Palestinian refugees, highlighting their support for the Palestinian refugees’ right to return to their homeland, from which they were forced out in 1948.
The Hamas representative considered this gathering and the unified Lebanese position against the “Deal of the Century” as a very positive precedent in the Lebanese-Palestinian relations and an important model approach to handle the issues of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.
Abdel Hadi called for making good use of the Lebanese stance on the US deal to rearrange the Lebanese-Palestinian relationship on the basis of respecting rights and duties and granting the Palestinian refugees their humanitarian and social rights, so “they can live a decent life until they return to their homeland.”
