“We strongly reject the tripartite agreement between Morocco, the United States, and the Israeli occupation,” Abu Marzouq said in a tweet, noting that this “deplored” step does not represent the Moroccan people and their stances in support of the Palestinian people.
“We were bitterly disappointed by signing the [normalisation] deal by Dr Saadeddine Othmani, whom we hoped would have taken a historic and honourable position,” Abu Marzouq wrote.
Meanwhile, Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri labelled the Moroccan-Israeli normalisation agreement as a “great disappointment or the Palestinian people and cause.”
Regretting the signing the Moroccan-Israeli normalisation deal by Othmani as a “big slip” for the Justice and Development Party, Abu Zuhri called for rectifying this “error” to preserve the status of Morocco and the party’s history in support of the Palestinian cause.
