The monthly branch presidents meeting of the Conscious Teachers Association was held in Ankara on the first day of Ramadan. The ordinary meeting held in the conference hall of the Cansuyu Aid and Solidarity Association was attended by the head office management and the branch heads. After the ÖĞ-DER Headquarters Commissions made their presentations at the meeting, the branch heads informed the educators about their work.

“GIRLS AND BOYS’ SCHOOLS IN WESTERN COUNTRIES SHOULD BE EXAMINED”

In the meeting, ÖĞ-DER Chairman Hamdi Sürücü mentioned that co-education came to the agenda again and stated that co-education should be subject to the wishes of the parents and said, “Co-education should cease to be compulsory, it should depend on the wishes of the parents. This is necessary in order to increase academic success. When we look at the girls' and boys' schools in the east or west of the world, it is seen that the level of success is high. Co-education is a system that reduces success and produces problems. Today, those who are in favor of co-education, girls or women in the Western countries they take as an example. We recommend that they examine the boys' schools. Because the academic success rate in these schools is higher than in co-educational schools.”

“TEACHERS SHOULD GET THE REPUTATION THAT THEY DESERVE”

He stated that the incidents cannot be approved regarding the fact that the students shared their disrespect towards their teachers on their social media accounts, which has been on the agenda frequently in the media recently, and said, "Insulting, violence and battering our teachers, who carry the profession of prophethood on their shoulders, who are known enough to be a slave because they taught him a letter yesterday, who are trusted by saying ‘the meat is yours, his bone is mine,’ when the children are delivered to school, by both parents and students, is unacceptable. Deterrent laws against these situations should be enacted and teachers should regain the reputation they deserve.”
