Haniya expressed his solidarity with Fatash, who went on an open hunger strike to protest his son’s arrest, and called for ending her suffering that might put her life at risk.
In a separate phone call, Haniya congratulated Kamel al-Khatib on his release from Israeli jails after being detained for 16 years.
The top Hamas leader extended his condolences to al-Khatib whose mother passed away a day after he was released from Israeli jails.
