At the Saadet Party Provincial Presidents and Provincial Inspectors Meeting held in Ankara at the end of last week, Saadet Party Hatay Provincial President Mehmet Harputluoğlu made important evaluations about Hatay.
In his speech, Harputluoğlu touched upon the basic needs of Hatay and what needs to be done to minimize the negative effects of the earthquake.
“THE TARGET IS DESTRUCTION AND TEMPORARY SHELTER!”
Stating that the wounds caused by the earthquake should be healed, Harputluoğlu said, "The problems experienced during and after the earthquake are known to everyone. We lost tens of thousands of our citizens. This loss was not enough and unfortunately our citizens had to leave the country they loved more than their lives. Those who did not leave their homeland and still resist continue to experience great pain and losses."
Harputluoğlu, who wanted the state to increase its support to the region, said, "Even though months have passed since the earthquake. Despite this, the target is still demolition and temporary shelter! Our citizens, who were promised that all houses would be completed and moved into their homes within a year, are still waiting for containers even though seven months have passed."
“HATAY IS ALSO THE PERSONALITY OF TURKEY”
Stating that Hatay is the castle of the Mediterranean, Harputluoğlu said, "Hatay is not an ordinary city. Hatay is an ancient city with its history, culture and strategic location. Hatay, which has hosted dozens of civilizations, has always been the most ancient land in human history. Hatay is not only our personal issue, but also Turkey's personality. For this reason, Hatay has to be valued as it deserves, not as much as it deserves."
