Lailat Raghaib, which is realized on the night that connects the first Thursday of the month of Rajab to Friday, one of the three holy months of great importance for the Islamic world, is considered as the "night of mercy and abundance".
In the dictionary, raghaib means "the thing that is sought after, abundant and valuable donation", and in the hadith and fiqh literature it is used in the sense of "abundant good deeds, rewards, virtuous deeds".
“A MUSLIM SHOULD NOT BE A SLAVE TO WISHES, PASSIONS AND DESIRES”
Bahattin Akbaş, Expert of the Religious Affairs High Council of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, said that the Raghaib Night reminds us that demand and requests should be directed only towards Allah.
Emphasizing the importance of a Muslim’s not being a slave to desires, passions and wishes, Akbaş said, "We must learn to control our selves, we must turn to our Lord." Akbaş, who advised to pray, perform a prayer and fast on Friday, “Let's take time for ourselves for worship tonight. Not to remove remembering Allah out of mind and heart, will lead us to real happiness,” he added.
