Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ have been arrested by the local court in southeastern province of Diyarbakır, on Friday.
In their testimonies, Yüksekdağ and Demirtaş said they would not answer the questions regarding the charges posed against him and that he was only going to give a short statement, adding that he did not want to be “an extra in a judicial theatrical play.”
Demirtaş and Yüksekdağ were among 14 HDP deputies whose detentions were sought as part of terror probes launched in the eastern and southeastern provinces Diyarbakır, Şırnak, Hakkari, Van and Bingöl.
The arrests of Demirtaş and Yüksekdağ along with Mardin deputy Gülser Yıldırım and Hakkari deputy Selma Irmak came couple of hours after two Diyarbakır deputies, İdris
Baluken and Nursel Aydoğan, as well as Şırnak deputy Leyla Birlik were arrested by local courts. Şırnak lawmaker Ferhat Encü and Hakkari lawmaker Abdullah Zeydan were also later arrested.
