A proposal for a legislative amendment was made to the Assembly to prevent the wage victimization brought about by the Milli Gazete and closely related to hundreds of thousands of pensioners.
The Milli Gazete brought the wages of hundreds of thousands of retirees to 1500 liras, with the headline news that 'Retirees would not be able to get raise for years'. While the victimization of retirees was on the agenda with our headline news, Parliament was offered an important amendment on the subject. If the desired change in the Social Insurance and General Health Insurance Law numbered 5510 is accepted in the Assembly, retirees will not have to make a living with 1500 TL for many years, and their salaries will be increased every year in the monthly coefficient of civil servants.
LAW OFFER HAS BEEN GIVEN TO REMOVE THE VICTIMIZATION
While the government increased the lowest pensions to 1500 lira, this improvement was announced as a good news for hundreds of thousands of retirees. However, although this improvement seems to be in favor of the retired, it brought a great loss of rights to the agenda. Retirees will not be able to benefit from salary increases for many years, as the lowest pensions are increased to 1500 lira with the Treasury aid.
In order to prevent this victimization that our newspaper brought to the agenda, a law proposal was submitted to the Assembly by the CHP. It is aimed to prevent retirement rights of retirees with the "Law Proposal for Amendment to the Law No. 5510 on Social Insurance and General Health Insurance" submitted to the Assembly by CHP Hatay Deputy Mehmet Güzelmansur. If there is no change in the law numbered 5510, retirees will not be able to benefit from salary increases every 6 months and will be sentenced to 1500 liras for many years.
THE PURPOSE OF TREASURY ASSISTANCE IS PURPOSE
With the amendment required in the Social Insurance and General Health Insurance Law numbered 5510, it is aimed to prevent the increases in retirement salaries from the Treasury support, to benefit from real salary increases and retire the retired people for 1,500 TL.
ITEM REASONS
ARTICLE 1- The regulation for raising the lowest pension monthly income to 1500 TL is provided with additional support from the Treasury. This will cause retirees to not receive real increases for 6-7 years. This is prevented by the arrangement made with the substance.
PROPOSAL OF LAW ON AMENDMENTS TO SOCIAL INSURANCE AND GENERAL HEALTH INSURANCE LAW NO 5510
ARTICLE 1- The following sentence has been added to the end of the first paragraph of the additional article 19 of the Social Security and General Health Insurance Law No. 5510 dated 31/5/2006. “This amount, which is determined as 1500 TL, is applied by increasing the monthly coefficients of civil servants every year.”
