In his statement, Sağlık-Sen Chairman Semih Durmuş stated that although the year 2021 was declared as the "Year of Healthcare Professionals" with the devoted efforts of healthcare professionals during the pandemic period, there are no efforts to find a solution to the problems of healthcare professionals.

Durmuş, stating that the healthcare professionals do not want those who do not deserve or do not have rights, they want the reward of their hardships and struggles, "For example, they want an end to the inequitable and unfair revolving fund system. Instead of this system that hurts and ignores sweat, they want a new model in which payments are met from the central budget, not the hospital budget. In this way, they know very well that their income will not depend on the income of hospitals," he said.

"HEALTHCARE EMPLOYEES ASK FOR THEIR RIGHTS"

Emphasizing that the contracted employment model should be ended for job security of healthcare workers, Durrmuş, "It is unacceptable to do the same job in the same workplace and have very different financial, personal and social rights. They want the seizure fees to be increased. Because when healthcare workers are on duty, they receive lower wages than normal working wages. However, the opposite is true for other public employees. Health workers are not third-class public employees. It should not be forgotten that they are obliged to save lives," he added.

"WORK LOAD OF HEALTHCARE EMPLOYEES IN OUR COUNTRY IS MORE COMPARED TO THE EU"

Emphasizing that healthcare workers have been crushed under the workload not only with the pandemic but also in the past, Durmuş noted that the pandemic period only increased the existing workload and that a nurse in our country had to do the work of 4 people compared to the EU conditions.

"HEALTHCARE EMPLOYEES DO NOT WANT TO DO THEIR WORK WITH PROBLEMS"

"Healthcare professionals no longer want to be victims of violence! Because violence does not only affect the victim; In short, it directly affects all employees, causes traumas, fears, and intimidates all employees. Healthcare professionals do not want to live with these problems, to get used to these problems, and to perform their sacred profession under the shadow of these problems. In addition to doing their profession fondly, they want to celebrate their feasts and continue their lives in a prosperous way," Durmuş addded.
