Healthcare Workers Syndicate focuses on physician migration

Healthcare Workers Syndicate held a 'Physician Rights, Resignation and Migration Workshop' on the resignations of health professionals and their migration abroad, which are frequently on the agenda with the pandemic.

Health and Social Service Workers Syndicate (Sağlık-Sen) held a 'Physician Rights, Resignation and Migration Workshop' on physician resignations and migration, which is often on the agenda with the pandemic. While the health workers' problems and immigration were discussed in the workshop, ‘Sağlık-Sen’ Chairman Semih Durmuş stated that union struggle is necessary for the problems to be conveyed to the authorities and resolved. Underlining that significant gains were achieved for health workers in the 6th Term Collective Agreement, Durmuş noted that the results of these gains will be seen clearly in the future. 
 

“WE SHARE THE FINAL DECLARATION OF ALL OUR WORKS WITH AUTHORIZED INSTITUTIONS”

 
Noting that as ‘Sağlık-Sen’, they have carried out important studies and workshops regarding the problems and solution proposals of healthcare professionals, Durmuş said, “We are brainstorming by bringing together the experts of the business. We offer solutions by talking about problems from different angles. The final declaration of all our studies, we share it with institutions, especially with the Ministry of Health.” 
 

“THE SITUATION IS NOT BEARABLE ANYMORE”

 
Noting that healthcare professionals are going through a difficult process and are in a serious struggle, “Healthcare professionals are in a serious struggle. The ongoing problems were covered with the pandemic. The situation is not bearable anymore. All problems need to be resolved,” Durmuş added.
 

“WE WILL EXAMINE THE CAUSES OF THE PROBLEMS AND PRODUCE SOLUTIONS” 

 
Stating that they held a "Search Workshop for the Improvement of the Personal Rights of Public Physicians" on November 11, 2021 and that they shared the final declaration of this workshop with the authorities, Durmuş said, "Today, we will talk about the personal rights of physicians, the reasons for resignation, and the reasons for the accelerated migration. We will examine the causes of the problems and produce solutions. That's why our workshop is of great importance. We will also include cause-effect relationships in the final declaration of our workshop. The final declaration will be shared with all authorized institutions. Our aim with the workshop is to contribute to preventing the problems that cause physician migration and resignation.” 
 

WORKSHOP WAS HELD IN 4 SESSIONS 

 
In the workshop, which was held in 4 sessions, under the main headings of the Effect of Working Conditions, the Effect of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Effect of Financial and Personal Rights and Medicine from Past to Present, problems such as the workload of physicians, violence, malpractice, seizures, and additional indicators were discussed and solution suggestions were developed. ‘Sağlık-Sen’ Chairman Semih Durmuş, Secretary General Durali Baki, Deputy Chairmen Mahmut Faruk Doğan, Şemsettin Karadoğan, Yusuf Dural, Yasin Barutcu and many physicians and academicians from different branches working in various institutions attended the workshop.
