Members of the police force wear out every day due to excessive watch, mobbing, insufficient leave and financial difficulties. The problems of our police officers, who cannot find a solution to the problems they experience, have to announce their experiences through social media, and many of them are facing psychological problems, are waiting for a solution immediately.
“RETIREMENT BY MANDATORY VOLUNTARINESS”
Expressing the problems he experienced in a post he made on social media, police officer A.M. said, “My monthly expenses are accommodation, food, drinking, etc. 6,000 Turkish Liras (TL). It even happens that it exceeds. I haven't seen my family for two months. At this price commute, fuel etc. not included. The money I receive is equivalent to pension. My psychology is damaged. They made me decide to retire voluntarily. I am 47 years old. I leave the comment to you.”
While the police force, which is one of the most established institutions in Turkey, was shaken by the suicides that have been going on for about 5 years, the issue came up again with the suicides of 5 of our police officers last month. From public order to narcotics, from tourism to the fight against terrorism, from sports to traffic, our police officers, who serve 24/7 for our security in every aspect of our lives, unfortunately do their duty under difficult conditions. Members of the police force, whose rights cannot be paid at any cost, wear out every day due to excessive watch, mobbing and insufficient leaves. The police and their families, who have martyred many of their friends for the homeland, are trying to announce the bad conditions they have been living for years on social media. In addition to dealing with serious forensic cases, many of our police officers, who are longing for the face of their families due to long watch and little leave, are facing serious psychological problems. As Milli Gazete, we have compiled the heartbreaking posts made by the police officers trying to make their voices heard on social media…
“THEY MADE THE DECISION TO RETIRE BY MANDATORY VOLUNTEERING”
Expressing the problems he experienced in a post he made on social media, police officer A.M. stated that he was forcibly retired and he said, “My monthly expenses are accommodation, food, drinking, etc. 6,000 Turkish Liras (TL). It even happens that it exceeds. I haven't seen my family for two months. At this price commute, fuel etc. not included. The money I receive is equivalent to pension. My psychology is damaged. They made me decide to retire voluntarily. I am 47 years old. I leave the comment to you. I have two daughters. One is in her senior year of college. My request for ‘IPKA’ was not accepted. It was my first ‘ipka’ request. I was offended when I saw those who their 16th ipka requests were accepted.”
“POLICE WORKING FOR 15 HOURS EAT OUT OF HIS OWN POCKET”
Working for 20 years as a police officer, describing his experiences on social media under the pseudonym 'The Police Who His Rights Were Stolen' in order to seek his rights and to be protected from an investigation that will be opened on his behalf, said in a post: “I have been a police officer for 20 years, the worst working conditions in my life, the most intense and the only period that I could not get paid for is the last 5 years. I work at least 72 hours per week excluding additional tasks +90 hours with additional tasks. The salary I get goes to dinner, goes to rent, I take loans all the time.” In another post, the same police officer, who drew attention to the meal money, said, “In every institution, the meal fee or the meal given to the civil servants should also be given to the police officers. There is food for the civil servant who works 8 hours a day, but the police who works for 15 hours eat out of his own pocket. Each institution takes at least 2 days off per week, the police take a maximum of 1 day off. Everyone has a social life, there is mobbing by the chief of the police.”
“FAMILY ORDER OF THE POLICE IS BEING DESTROYED”
Another police officer, who posted on social media under the pseudonym "Police Rights", also touched upon the issue of appointment and said, “Many public servants who do not have compulsory appointment are paid more than the police. According to them, the police work at least 100 hours more per month. While they are off on public holidays, the police are working. The police are appointed 4-5 times. How peace is possible? The family order of the police is falling apart. His wife doesn't want to go, she says no, his child's school situation, his education life is ruined, you change a city, everything costs money, but other civil servants do not have to worry about appointments, but they get more salaries than the police.”
