Unlike the bread queues we encounter in almost every city, the shopping queue of Bulgarians is seen in Edirne as well... The reason is the value of our money against Bulgarian money...

After the Bulgarian government lifted the PCR test requirement on their return to the country, the Bulgarians, who came to Edirne with tour buses and vehicles, met all their needs, from bread to water, from the shopkeepers in the city.

The abolition of the PCR test requirement applied on the return trips from Turkey to Bulgaria became a lifeline for the city tradesmen.

Bulgarian tourists, who flocked to Edirne on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, run out of room in their luggage.

Bulgarians, who were shopping with sacks and parcels, had a hard time carrying what they bought.

Bulgarians, who met many of their needs from Turkey, from food to clothing, from household goods to cleaning products, now started to buy their bread and water from Edirne.

While there was no place in the parking lots due to the tourist density at the weekend, there was no place to take a step in the bazaars, markets and shopping centers.

“WE CAME AND WE WILL FILL THE LUGGAGE AND RETURN”

Yusuf Mümin, who came from Bulgaria for shopping, "We bought everything from Edirne. We buy everything we need, from food to clothing. We come every week. We came by car, we will pack our luggage and return," he said.

Nurdan Catova, "We got lamb, we got veal. We took our oil, our everything. We are always coming. We're filling up. We take our bread, water, detergent and leave," she said.

Yilmaz Haluk, "We are coming to Edirne from Bulgaria for shopping. We also buy vegetables such as Yemeni, shoes, bags, food, tomatoes, leeks and lettuce," he said.

Bazaar shopkeeper Alona Sozonova, "Our business has been very stagnant for 2 weeks. Because the Bulgarian did not come, we could not make many sales. After the PCR test requirement was abolished in Bulgaria, our business started to move," she said.

Şenol Tuna, one of the tradesmen of Edirne, "Our business is open. Since the Bulgarians started arriving, our sales have increased and our business has been active. They usually prefer weekends. It is very busy from Friday to Sunday. At that time, they show more interest and shop more. They eat liver, they shop. There are also many tour buses. They do loads of shopping. This is our lifeblood," he said.

Bulgarian tourists flocking to Edirne competed with each other to get their needs. Bulgarian citizens, who packed what they bought into suitcases and placed them in the trunk of their vehicles, left Edirne after having dinner in the city.
