Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon, stated that Israel must withdraw from the village of Gajar, which has been completely occupied since July 4, otherwise they will not leave those areas to themselves.

Nasrallah made a speech on the 17th anniversary of the 34-day conflict between Hezbollah and Israel that broke out on the southern border of the country on July 12, 2006.

Nasrallah, who participated in the program organized by Hezbollah via video conference, stated that Lebanon's land border with Israel is clear, but Israel is present in some areas belonging to Lebanon and that it should withdraw from there.

Nasrallah mentioned that Israel occupied the entire village of Gajar, which is partly belonging to Lebanon and located on the border, on July 4 and put up a wire fence around it.

"In case of full coordination between the resistance (Hezbollah) and the state, we can regain our occupied Ghajar lands," Nasrallah said.

Nasrallah stated that the occupied village is an issue that must be resolved sooner or later and that they will not leave these lands to Israel.

THE VILLAGE OF GAJAR FULLY OCCUPED BY ISRAEL

The entire village of Gajar, located on the slopes of the Golan Heights, which has been occupied by Israel since 1967, remained under the de facto occupation of Israel until 17 November 2010.

Israel then withdrew from the northern part of the village and retained only the southern part; In the northern part, the United Nations Interim Peacekeeping Force (UNIFIL) was deployed.

In a statement on July 4, the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that Israel wanted to expand the occupation zone, in clear violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which banned entrance to the north of the village of Gajar.

Hezbollah, on the other hand, reported on July 7 that Israel had occupied the entire village of Gajar, on the Lebanese border, and built a wall around it.
