President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had set a ceiling price for TMO's grain purchases in order to protect farmers and livestock producers against the serious loss of yield expected in almost every agricultural product in 2021. Accordingly, the upper limit for barley purchase prices was announced as 1,750 lira. Against these prices, which all official institutions must comply with, the Agricultural Credit Cooperative Tekirdağ Regional Union first determined the purchase prices of barley for 2021 as 2,300 TL, and then removed the shares it made.
