Turkish Statistical Institute announced the house sales statistics for July.
Accordingly, the number of house sales in Turkey decreased by 12.9% in July compared to the same month of the previous year and became 93 thousand 902.
The number of houses sold in July decreased by 37.6 percent compared to June.
In terms of the number of sales, Istanbul became the province with the highest share with 14 thousand 350 houses sold and 15.3 percent.
Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 7 thousand 417 house sales and 7.9 percent share, and Izmir with 4 thousand 868 house sales and 5.2 percent share.
The provinces with the lowest number of house sales were Hakkari and Ardahan with 31 houses, and Şırnak with 49 houses.
MORTGAGE SALES INCREASED IN THE FIRST 7 MONTHS
In July, mortgaged house sales decreased by 6.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and fell to 19 thousand 146.
The share of mortgaged sales in total housing sales was 20.4 percent.
Mortgaged house sales in the January-July period, on the other hand, increased by 51.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and were recorded as 189 thousand 463.
5,580 of the mortgaged sales in July and 48,694 of the mortgaged sales in the January-July period were first hand sales.
FOREIGN PREFERENCE ANTALYA
In Turkey, 3 thousand 939 houses were sold to foreigners in July.
Housing sales to foreigners decreased by 12.4 percent on an annual basis in July.
In the said month, the share of house sales to foreigners in total house sales was 4.2 percent.
Antalya took the first place in house sales to foreigners with 1421 house sales. This province was followed by Istanbul with 1154 house sales and Mersin with 289 house sales, respectively.
In July, Russian citizens bought 1028 houses from Turkey.
Russian citizens were followed by Iran with 431 residences and Iraqi citizens with 380 residences.
HOUSING PRICE INDEX INCREASED 160% ANNUALLY!
The Housing Price Index (KPI) data for the period of June 2022 has been announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT).
The (KFE) (2017=100), calculated to monitor the quality-adjusted price changes of houses in Turkey, increased by 9.0 percent in June compared to the previous month and was recorded as 469.8.
While the Housing Price Index increased by 160.6 percent on an annual basis in June, the real increase in this period was 47 percent.
Looking at the changes in the housing price index for the three big cities, there was an increase of 9.7 percent, 9.3 percent and 8.1 percent in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, respectively, in June compared to the previous month.
Index values increased by 184.9 percent in Istanbul, 165.4 percent in Ankara and 150.9 percent in Izmir compared to the same month of the previous year.
