While our country is facing a very serious food crisis, the number of farmers working in the field for the first time has fallen below 500 thousand.
 
Increases in agricultural production costs and high food prices put both producers and consumers in trouble.
 
In these days, where the importance of agriculture is increasing day by day, the farmer, who is crushed by the cost increases, is leaving the field.
 

THE NUMBER OF FARMERS DECLINED BELOW 500K, TO THE LOWEST LEVEL OF RECENT YEARS

 
According to the January data of the Social Security Institution (SGK), the insured wage-earner group (4/a), which constitutes 71.9 percent of the total insured employees, increased by 5.9 percent annually, by 885 thousand figures, and the general trend was decisive. Although the change in the artisan-farmer group (4/b) is towards an increase of 4.7 percent, the trends differed in the lower classes. In this period, the number of tradesmen increased by 9.1 percent, i.e. 210 thousand, and the number of farmers decreased by 75,000, corresponding to 13,2 percent. With the decrease in question, the number of farmers decreased to 493,000.
 
In addition to the long-term downward trend in the number of farmers, the high-rate increases in the number of tradesmen in recent months drew attention. The increase in the number of insured employees (4/c) in the public sector was limited to 1.6 percent.
 
Increases in agricultural production costs and high food prices put both producers and consumers in trouble. According to TEPAV's employment monitoring bulletin, the number of insured employees increased by 1.1 million to 22.2 million in January; The number of farmers decreased by 13.2 percent to 493 thousand!

In this period, the number of tradesmen increased by 9.1 percent, i.e. 210 thousand, and the number of farmers decreased by 75,000, which corresponds to 13,2 percent. With the decrease in question, the number of farmers decreased to 493,000.
 

LOWEST INCREASE IN RECENT YEARS

 
Employment increases in 3 main sectors, which make up 52.5 percent of insured wage earners, were at the lowest levels in the last year. 27.7 percent of total insured wage earners were employed in manufacturing, 15.6 percent in wholesale and retail trade and 9.2 percent in construction. Looking at the annual changes, 7.4 percent increase in manufacturing, 3 percent increase in wholesale and retail trade sector and 0.2 percent increase in construction industry, the said increases pointed to the lowest levels of the year.
