Reminding the promise of the government that "we will plant every inch of the country", Karaduman, "How will every inch of the country be planted when we have thousands of farmers who are crushed under the input costs and have to stop production? Are you going to plant every inch of the country by increasing every day in diesel, fertilizer and electricity?” he asked.
Saadet Party Deputy Abdulkadir Karaduman brought the exorbitant prices of farmer's input costs to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA). Drawing attention to the recent price hikes in fuel, Karaduman said that the farmers are unable to plant because of the increasing input costs.
“HOW LONG WILL THE FUEL PRICE BE INCREASED?”
Referring to the increasing input costs of the farmer, “The diesel fuel, which was 7 Turkish Liras (TL) these days of last year, is 14 TL today. It will probably exceed 14 TL tomorrow. Aside from the exorbitant hikes in water, electricity, fertilizer and feed prices, which strain our farmers and producers, diesel, which constitutes the most important input cost of the farmer, how much more will it increase? What do you suggest to the farmer in the face of these price hikes, how will the farmer produce?” Karaduman added.
HOW WILL THE FARMER WHO IS PRESSED UNDER INPUT COSTS, SOW?
Criticizing the government's agricultural policy, "You used to say that we will plant every inch of the country. How will every inch of the country be cultivated when we have thousands of farmers who are crushed by input costs and have to stop production? Are you going to plant every inch of the country by increasing every day in diesel, fertilizer and electricity? Being local and national is not by talking, it is by reinforcing agriculture, supporting the farmer and eliminating foreign dependency. The rest is just talk of malice,” Karaduman said.
