Felicity (Saadet) Party Konya Deputy and Head of Youth Branch Abdulkadir Karaduman brought an agricultural crisis that Turkey may experience due to the war between Russia and Ukraine to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
Asking the Minister of Agriculture Bekir Pakdemirli to answer a question, Karaduman asked whether the ministry has any work on the crisis that may occur in wheat imports.
“85 PERCENT OF OUR WHEAT NEED IS FROM TWO COUNTRIES”
Karaduman said that our country is facing an important agricultural crisis due to the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
"Especially, 85% of our wheat imports are met from these two countries. Again, products such as barley, corn, sunflower, bran, chickpeas and sugar are imported from these countries. Concerns have increased that the crisis will adversely affect product supply and thus increase the cost," Karaduman added.
