According to the results of the research, the hunger limit, which was determined as 2,830 TL in May, surpassed the minimum wage of 2,825 TL in the first five months of the year. In April, the hunger limit was set as 2,767 lira. The poverty line for a family of four for the month of May was announced as 9,219 Turkish lira. Kitchen inflation was 2.28 percent in May and 18.07 percent annually. The monthly kitchen cost of the citizen increased by 392 TL compared to the previous year and the general burden on the family budget increased by 1.277 TL on an annual basis. At the end of only the first five months of the year, the additional burden on the family budget was 783 TL.

Türk-İş Board of Directors, which shared an assessment of the research results, noted that despite the frequent changes in the country's agenda, the only concern of the employees was their livelihood, "The increase in fuel prices, which is the main input of production, this month is expected to be reflected in many basic goods and services, especially food products, in the coming months. This development further regressed the purchasing power of large segments of the public, especially wage earners. The widespread unemployment that can be experienced with the end of the ban on dismissal will have a negative impact on economic and social life," it was stated.
