Hunger limit of one person outpaces the minimum wage in Turkey

According to the latest research, the hunger limit of one person rose to 2,636 Turkish Liras, outpaced the minimum wage in Turkey

While the discussions on the minimum wage figure of 2,324 TL announced in recent days continue, according to the latest research, in December 2019, the minimum living rate of the family of four was 6,897 liras, the hunger limit of one person rose to 2,636 TL and the poverty line rose to 3,408 TL. Thus, it was documented that the minimum wage would not meet the needs of one person.
 

"2,560 LIRA GOES ONLY FOR FOOD"

 
Turkey Kamu-Sen announced the results of December the minimum subsistence index prepared by the Center for R & D. The only person working hunger limit increased by 0.41 percent compared to the previous month 2,636 TL, the poverty limit was 3,408 TL.
 
In the study, the average food and housing expenses of the family of four people totaled 2,560 TL, as required by health care institutions to calculate the amount of expenditure required to be fed as healthy 51 TL per day.
 

"BUDGET OPEN GROWING EVERY DAY"

 
Turkey Kamu-Sen President Önder Kahveci, the assessment related to the research, noted that many products continued unabated hikes. Despite the decline in annual inflation data, Kahveci stressed that the inflation of the citizen is high, "our research using TurkStat data reveals this fact. Citizen's kitchen costs continue to increase. Therefore, the deficit in the budget of the citizen grows a little more each month and is becoming indelible," he said.
