In this context, İDDEF, which carried out the first aid work from Turkey recently, delivered food to Afar, where violent clashes took place after the Amhara region in the north of Ethiopia. İDDEF delivered food packages to 500 families in the Afar region, which is most affected by the ongoing civil war in Ethiopia. Food packages containing basic life materials were distributed to the aggrieved people by the teams.
“WE DELIVERED FOOD AID TO 500 FAMILIES”
In the statement made by İDDEF regarding the emergency aid efforts in the Afar region, “We continue our emergency aid efforts that we have initiated for people who have been displaced by the civil war that has been going on for more than a year in Ethiopia, who took shelter in camps and who are suffering from hunger. In Ethiopia, where the number of people in need of help to survive is increasing day by day due to the civil war, we delivered food aid to 500 families in need in Afar, one of the regions most affected by conflicts. We distributed food packages prepared with donations that our philanthropists did to our campaign, to our war-torn brothers in the Afar region after Amhara in the north of the country,” it was stated.
“WE DON'T LEAVE ETHIOPIANS ALONE”
Pointing out that the humanitarian tragedy in Ethiopia and especially in Afar is getting worse day by day, “In Ethiopia with a population of 110 millions, where food stocks are declining and a great human tragedy is experienced, 23 million people that is increasing day by day, are struggling to survive in need of humanitarian aid. In addition to food, shelter and health services are needed in the country, where factors such as drought, epidemic disease, famine and hunger have caused a crisis along with the war. As İDDEF, we do not leave the Ethiopians who are victims of war alone by continuing our emergency aid activities,” the statement said.
