While the resistance by the locals continued against the stone quarry that was intended to be built in the İşkence dere district in Rize's İkizdere district, an obstacle was put in front of the people's resistance with the ban decision brought by the Rize Governor's Office.

The delegation of the İkizdere Associations Federation is making a return visit to the political parties that support the resistance in İkizdere. Delegation made its first visit to the Felicity (Saadet) Party. The delegation headed by Saadet Party Deputy Chairman Cafer Güneş received the delegation of İkizdere Associations Federation.

“SAADET PARTY WILL ALWAYS BE AGAINST INJUSTICE”

Saadet Party Deputy Chairman Cafer Güneş stated that they stood against the mistakes made.

"We saw what happened in the Torture Valley in Rize, which was the scene of some events we all experienced together a short time ago. Our Deputy Mr. Abdulkadir Karaduman went to the scene of the incident on behalf of our party as soon as the events started and made investigations there," he said.

“PEOPLE WHO CONSIDER EVERYTHING AS MONEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT NATURE”

Expressing that everything is viewed as money, Güneş noted that this problem lies at the root of what happened in İkizdere. Güneş stated that as the Saadet Party, they will continue to struggle with practices that ignore nature and the people living in that region.

"The mentality that says everything is money does not care about nature, people or the next generation because it looks at this place with the eye of money. They care about their financial satisfaction," he added.

“THE NATURE AREA IS TRYING TO BE DESTROYED”

Referring to the ban brought by the Rize Governor's Office in İkizdere, the Chairman of the İkizdere Associations Federation Ziya Yıldırım said, "We would like to thank both the Felicity Party and our deputy for their sensitive behavior. There is a brutal pillage in İkizdere, İşkencedere. It was 15 days in which bans were placed on a district among 922 districts, it was extended for another 15 days. Our aim here is not to have a quarry built there, but to struggle for it. It's ours. People forget how precious nature is. It is said that the extinction of a bee will destroy the world. Here, a stone quarry is planned in a place where there are 2 thousand 350 endemic plants, in a place where the villagers live. We are fighting legally. Our friends living in the village show a great resistance."
