Prof. Dr. Sabri Tekir, Deputy Chairman of Saadet Party, who spoke at the press conference held at the party headquarters, made statements about the economy and foreign policy issues, especially the developments in Turkish politics.

“PARLIAMENT SHOULD WORK MORE THAN EVER”

Sabri Tekir, Deputy Chairman of Saadet Party, stated that political parties exist to cure the nation's troubles, and noted that his party is aware of its duty to bring up the problems of the country and the troubles of the nation.

Speaking about the opposition parties calling the Assembly to an extraordinary meeting, Tekir said, "Political parties exist to cure the nation's problems. Therefore, in the post-election economic and political trauma environment, we said that the Parliament of the nation cannot be on recess and we called the Turkish Grand National Assembly to a meeting. As you follow, the events that took place in Muğla Akbelen and brought the citizens and the state security forces face to face were discussed. Then, despite all the efforts of the opposition, the Turkish Grand National Assembly was put on recess. While Turkey is grappling with such a deep economic crisis and our beloved nation is groaning under inflation and high cost of living, it is unfair to the nation to take the Parliament on vacation. These days are not vacation time for the Assembly, but more work time than ever before."

“WE WILL FULFILL OUR RESPONSIBILITY”

Continuing his words by stating that the problems experienced by millions of citizens continue to deepen, Tekir continued his words as follows:

"Hundreds of thousands of retirees trying to live on a salary of 7,500 lira; We do not have the luxury of saying, 'What should we do, wait a little longer so that the Parliament opens, we'll see later'. Nobody has either. We are ashamed to say or to be told to our farmers, producers, workers, civil servants and shopkeepers, who shout, 'I can't make a living, I can't make it to the end of the month anymore,' and a new arrangement will be made at the end of the year. The day is today. Although the Presidential Government System and Parliamentary arithmetic have limited the effectiveness of the opposition parties and the TGNA, we will endeavor to fulfill our responsibilities."

“IMF DOFFS A HAT ON AK PARTY POWER”

Underlining that the policies implemented by the government after the elections are similar to the IMF policies, Tekir noted that the government has made the country dependent on international loan sharks.

Tekir continued his words by stating that the IMF was abusing the AK Party government.

"What's in the IMF prescriptions? You will increase three things; You will increase taxes, hikes and interest. So what has the government been doing since the election? It is constantly increasing taxes, the price hikes are already raining, there is nothing left that does not increase in price, from needle to thread. As for the interest; Friends who used to say 'what's up, nas' have now embraced the understanding of 'interest is the reality of the world' again. In one go, they realized the highest interest rate increase in the history of the Republic. Again, in the IMF prescriptions, he writes "you will reduce all three things" and puts the debtor countries into the regime. You will reduce the wages of the worker, you will apply a low floor price to the farmer's product, so you will close it cheaply, that is, you will reduce the income of the farmer and reduce the purchasing power of the people. More than 15 million retirees are below the poverty line today; There are millions of retirees who have to live on a salary of 7,500 lira. This is not hunger anymore, it is the border of nothingness. Interestingly, this government sees the increase in retirement as a burden. However, the government should know that; The real burden on this country is the government itself, which has brought the country to the brink of an abyss with wrong policies and wants to make the strange people pay for their own ignorance. The economic prescription of the government is worse than the IMF prescriptions. There is no shortage of the IMF, it has surpluses. That's why the IMF hats off to them. Ingenuity is to develop the country materially and spiritually by using the physical and human capital resources very well with the perspective of Milli Gorus, without needing neither the IMF nor international moneylenders," Tekir added.

“ISLAMIC COUNTRIES SHOULD ACT AGAINST ATTACKS TO OUR HOLY BOOK”

“In recent weeks, vile attacks have been carried out against our life guide and holy book, the Quran, in many different European countries." Tekir said and continued his words by saying: "This is no longer the expression of a sick mood that has spread not in one or two countries but throughout Europe."

"Europe, which talks about freedom of expression, respect for beliefs and lifestyles, is again in a hypocritical attitude as always. Let alone the Bible here, if any European's book was burned, the institutions that would write report after report, the administrators who would make statements after statements, were almost blind, deaf and dumb in the face of these vile actions against the sacredness of millions of Muslims. Worse still, they applaud under the protection of the police. Well, if you ask what the rulers of the Islamic world, especially in Turkey, are doing, unfortunately, this point is much more serious. Why not mobilize the international community? Why don't Islamic countries take a collective stance or why don't you lead the way as Turkey? Islamic countries should know that; If you don't come together and act together against our common values, someone else will be added to these imperfections every day," Tekir said.
