Moving forward with the vision of a child-friendly city, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) hosts an important organization related to the early childhood period covering the 0-6 age group. “First Step: Early Childhood in the City” training is given to local governments across Turkey in cooperation with IMM Istanbul Planning Agency, Union of Marmara Municipalities and Superpool. The trainings that will take place on the IPA Campus with the participation of 86 local government representatives from 41 municipalities will take place on the IPA Campus between September 13-15.

The training program, which will be held on September 13-14-15 2022 in IPA Campus, Florya, will begin with the opening speeches on "Early Childhood in the City". The second day will include theoretical training and workshops in which the applications for the mobility of children and caregivers in urban life and the playgrounds of the city are examined. On the last day of the training, training and workshops will focus on strategy to support families and caregivers in early childhood. The program, in which partners such as IMM, Boğaziçi University, Maltepe Municipality and Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV) are involved, will also enable cooperation between the municipality, NGO and university. In the training program, trainings such as data, urban mobility, games in the city and family support will be provided. In addition to workshops, participants from international organizations such as WRI India and Bernard van Leer Foundation will share their experiences.
