According to Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) data, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 4.75 percent and the Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) increased by 3.4 percent on a monthly basis in September.
Annual inflation was 61.53 percent in consumer prices and 47.44 percent in domestic producer prices.
Considering the 12-month averages in September, consumer prices increased by 55.3 percent and domestic producer prices increased by 65.55 percent.
CPI increased by 49.86 percent and D-PPI increased by 36.06 percent in September compared to December of last year.
EDUCATION EXPENDITURES INCREASED BY 30 PERCENT IN 1 MONTH!
Among the main expenditure groups, the group with the highest monthly increase in September was determined as education with 30.27 percent.
The main group that showed the least increase on a monthly basis in September was recorded as clothing and shoes with 2.59 percent.
The highest annual increase in CPI was seen in the restaurants and hotels group with 92.48 percent, while the annual increase in food and non-alcoholic beverages was 75.14 percent.
The main group with the lowest increase compared to September 2022 was determined as housing with 20.16 percent.
While there was a decrease in the index of 11 basic headings out of 143 basic headings covered in the index in September, there was no change in the index of 4 basic headings. There was an increase in the index of 128 basic headings.
THE PRODUCT WITH THE GREATEST INCREASE IN PRICE IN SEPTEMBER IS “UNIVERSITY EDUCATION”
On the basis of consumer prices, the product whose price increased the most in September was "university education" with 127.72 percent, and the product whose price decreased was potatoes and some tubers with 4.31 percent.
According to TURKSTAT data, the price increase in university education was followed by other accommodation services with 30.21 percent.
It was followed by intercity passenger transportation by bus with 26.90 percent, social services by 22.81 percent, and intercity passenger transportation by rail with 17.73 percent.
Last month, the biggest price decrease was in potatoes and some tubers, with 4.31 percent.
This product was followed by vegetables (except potatoes and some tubers) with 3.98 percent and maintenance and repair of personal transportation vehicles with 1.30 percent.
