Inflation of agriculture rises to 155 percent!

Price increases in agricultural production did not slow down in May as well. Agricultural Products Producer Price Index increased by 16,18 percent in May compared to the previous month and increased by 154,97 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) announced the Agricultural Producer Price Index (PPI) data for May. 

Accordingly, the said index increased by 16,18 percent in May compared to the previous month, by 100,17 percent compared to December of the previous year, by 154,97 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and by 57,05 percent compared to the 12-month averages. 

Looking at the changes in the sectors compared to the previous month, an increase of 6,11 percent was recorded in forestry products and related services, 9,46 percent in fish and other fishery products, and 16,73 percent in agricultural and hunting products and related services. 

In the main groups, an increase of 4,38 percent in annual plant products, 14,88 percent in live animals and animal products, and 59,15 percent in perennial herbal products was calculated on a monthly basis.
