After MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli’s statement, “Even though the MHP is a partner of the People’s Alliance, its function and taken democratic responsibility is the opposition,” MHP Deputy Chairman Mevlüt Karakaya, who met with members of the press in İzmir, said, “We are not a partner of the government. There is no partnership, no coalition, but we are allies”.
Presidency YİK member Cemil Çiçek: “50+1 will drag Turkey into chaos”
Cemil Çiçek, Member of the Presidency High Advisory Board (YİK), brought important criticisms about the “party presidential system”.
"I said at the Constitutional meeting that 50+1 would cause significant problems both today and in the future and would drag Turkey into chaos. These words of mine are not pro-government or opposition. My words are very clear. 50+1 is causing serious problems. It will do it in the future as well," he said.
