KADEM, which drew criticism with its support for the Istanbul Convention, is on the agenda this time with the booklet "Women in Abrahamic Religions", which opens the door to interfaith dialogue.

The Women and Democracy Association (KADEM) approached the issue of men and women, which is intended to create a ground for social conflict, from a crippled perspective.

Showing a populist approach to the issue of women and men, KADEM served for interfaith dialogue with the booklet titled "Women in Abrahamic Religions". While the truth that Islam is the only religion in the sight of Allah is evident, in the booklet for women prepared with the language of interfaith dialogue, distorted Judaism and Christianity were considered as Abrahamic religions and examined in detail.

"We discussed the female conception of three religions"

Compiled from the works of Prof. Dr. Salime Leyla Gürkan on "Women in Judaism", "Women in Christianity" by Prof. Dr. Ömer Faruk Harman and "Women in Islam" by Assoc. Dr. Mehmet Birekul, KADEM Chairwoman of the Board Prof. Dr. Saliha Okur Gümrükçüoğlu, who opened the door to interfaith dialogue with the book titled 'Women in Abrahamic Religions', in the article she wrote in the 'Editor's Presentation' section, "As KADEM, we believe that the misinterpretation of religious texts has a significant impact on the roles that society imposes on women and men, and in the formation of stereotypes about gender. For this reason, by focusing on the subject of "Women in Abrahamic Religions", we have brought together in this booklet the transformation of the perception of women in the historical process, the representation of women in three religions and how this image has evolved over time."

DIALOGUE MESSAGE THROUGH WOMEN

Speaking to our newspaper about the booklet on women prepared by KADEM, DİN-BİR-DER Chairman Muhittin Hamdi Yıldırım stated that the booklet was prepared with a shallow and crippled look.

Stating that KADEM looks at women from the perspective of the West, Yıldırım said, "It was a very incomplete, very shallow report. The word 'women in Abrahamic religions' gave legitimacy to the current Western view in Judaism and Christianity."

"NO EVIDENCE FROM THE QUR'AN"

Muhittin Hamdi Yıldırım, Chairman of DIN-BİR-DER, regarding the file prepared by KADEM, "While studying women in Judaism, dozens of quotations were made from the Torah. The subject was examined from the Torah and other books. The role of women in society is mentioned. Where appropriate, it is stated that women are humiliated in Judaism. In Christianity, proofs were brought from the Bible and the Torah as the woman who led Adam (r.a.) astray, tempted him, and brought him out of heaven. The research done so far does not concern Islam. Now, when it comes to the issue of women in Islam, the issue is not looked at in terms of the unity of men and women. It is only looked at in terms of gender equality. No evidence other than the 1st verse of Surah Nisa has been brought. This verse is enough. However, there are hundreds of verses about men and women in the Qur'an. No evidence has been provided for any of the hundreds of verses and hundreds of hadiths," he added.

“KADEM LOOKS AT WOMAN WITH THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE WEST”

Yıldırım stated that men and women have completely different roles in terms of their biological and social functions.

"The Qur'an refers to them, but they are not mentioned in the file. Why is that? Because in this report, KADEM looks at the issue of women from the perspective of the People of the Book, that is, the West. It was a very, very shallow report. The word 'women in Abrahamic religions' gave legitimacy to the current Western view in Judaism and Christianity. The holistic view of men and women in Islam is ignored in this report. As it is seen, they had no idea that our Presidency of Religious Affairs had published the 1,168-page statements of the Prophet and his family symposium into a book. In addition, the communiqués of TİHEK's symposium on women in Islam were not reviewed, and the final statements were not read. The problem was looked at from a womanist and masculine point of view, which is a modern ignorance disease. It's all overlooked because it's viewed from the particle point of view," Yildirim added.
