The awards of the 11th International Short Film Competition, organized every year by "Hak-İş" Confederation, found their owners.

While 4,034 films from 128 different countries participated in the competition, which was held with the theme of "Respect for Labor", awards were given to their owners in 11 categories and also in the category of Unionists.

Speaking at the award ceremony, "Hak-İş" Chairman Mahmut Arslan stated that the examinations were made carefully and that they distinguished the films that are suitable for the social structure.

“WE WANT TO OPEN A NEW VEIN IN THE FIELD OF ART”

Speaking at the award ceremony, Hak-İş Chairman Mahmut Arslan also touched upon the difficulties they experienced during their journey to bring the laborers together in the field of art as well as in the trade union movement.

"The union movement is known for its sullen, combative, activist, belligerent side. We want to open a new vein in the field of art. We continue on this path, thinking that it will make our union struggle meaningful and bring our union struggle together with art and culture, and contribute to our industrial relations system," Arslan said.

“THE MOVIES HAVE BEEN METICULOUSLY DETERMINED”

Stating that each film is meticulously examined, Arslan reminded that each film participating in the competition is watched one by one by the juries.

"While we are doing these works, we have a line, a stance and a direction. We are trying to realize this in line with our principles, without giving up our stance and direction. We do not want to enter into areas that have problems with the value judgments of the society, taking into account the sensitivities of our society, respecting them, and walking on these sensitivities. We have a place and a line where we stand. As Hak-İş, we take this sensitivity into consideration for the films we have chosen and the films determined by our jury," Arslan added.

The owners of the works that were deemed worthy of an award at the Hak-İş 11th International Short Film Competition with the theme "Respect for Labor" met with their awards.

In the competition, where 4,034 films from 128 different countries applied this year, awards were given in 11 national and international categories and also in the category of Unionists.

In the national category, the First Best Film Award went to Mehmet Buyruk for his movie "Mermerin Sultanları", the Second Best Film Award to Anıl Gök for his movie "Can Suyu", and the Third Best Film Award to Meryem Sena Metin for the movie "Son Görülme".
